CDA Plans Auction of 15 Recreational Sites at Lake View Park

Islamabad (Special Correspondent): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to auction 15 recreational sites at Lake View Park and approved the hiring of an international consultant for its proposed Safari Park project.

According to a report published by Dawn, the CDA Board, in its recent meeting, gave in-principle approval to lease out 10 existing recreational sites at Lake View Park Phase II, whose leases expired in 2023, along with five newly identified sites through open bidding. A total of 104 acres of land will be offered to investors to enhance the authority’s revenue and facilitate the development of modern recreational facilities in the park.

The board directed that the entire bidding process be conducted transparently in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and all legal requirements be fulfilled. The new leases will be awarded for a period of 15 years, with a 10 percent increase in rent every three years and an option for a further five-year extension under specified conditions.

The meeting also approved the appointment of an international consultant for the proposed Safari Park near Malpur. The consultant will oversee the project’s design, construction standards, animal welfare, habitat planning, and overall implementation to ensure the facility meets international standards.

According to the report, the PC-I for the Safari Park is in its final stages of preparation. Once approved, the CDA will invite tenders to begin construction. The project aims to establish a world-class wildlife and recreational facility in Islamabad.
