Three new additional judges take oath at Islamabad High Court
ISLAMABAD, August 11: Three newly appointed additional judges of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Ayaz Shaukat, Justice Umair Majid Malik and Justice Shah Rukh Arjumand, have taken oath of office.
Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Justice Sarfraz Dogar administered the oath to the three judges at a ceremony held at the Islamabad High Court. Judges of the High Court, representatives of the bar and lawyers attended the ceremony.
The appointment summaries of the three judges had remained pending at the Presidency, resulting in a delay in their oath-taking. President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of additional judges to various high courts on Tuesday, following which the three newly appointed judges of the Islamabad High Court took oath on the same day.
Their appointment as additional judges has increased the number of judges available to conduct judicial proceedings at the Islamabad High Court and is expected to help improve the court’s capacity to deal with pending cases.
