Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Meets Belarusian Energy Minister, Reviews Bilateral Cooperation
Islamabad: Minister for Energy of the Republic of Belarus Dzenis Maroz, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Wednesday.
Welcoming the Belarusian minister and his delegation, the prime minister conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes to President Alexander Lukashenko. He recalled President Lukashenko’s visit to Islamabad in November 2024 and his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, saying the high-level exchanges had further strengthened bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the productive discussions held during the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Islamabad. The two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labour, transport and energy.
Both sides expressed confidence that the outcomes of the JMC would translate into tangible benefits for both countries and further strengthen the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.
Minister Dzenis Maroz thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings of the Belarusian leadership. He also briefed the prime minister on the progress made during the JMC meeting.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral coordination and cooperation to implement agreements reached by the leadership of Pakistan and Belarus across various sectors.
