Pakistan Embassy in Azerbaijan Marks 79th Independence Day
BAKU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Azerbaijan organized a ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day, attended by members of the diplomatic mission, representatives of the Pakistani community and other guests.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of Pakistan’s national flag, followed by the reading of messages from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif highlighting the special significance of Independence Day for the Pakistani nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan’s independence and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peace, dialogue and cooperation among nations.

The ambassador said Pakistan had always supported peace, dialogue and cooperation among peoples and would continue working to strengthen national institutions and unity while developing the country’s potential.

He also highlighted the growing diplomatic, economic and defence cooperation between Pakistan and other countries.

Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin said Pakistan remained committed to contributing to peace and stability in the region and around the world.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for members of the Pakistani community in Azerbaijan and diplomatic officials to celebrate Independence Day and reaffirm their commitment to Pakistan’s progress, unity and national interests.
