LAHORE (special crosspondent) – The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) and the Pakistan Tech Forum (PTF) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating technology-driven business growth, fostering entrepreneurship, and securing access to international markets. The partnership seeks to bridge the gap between local Pakistani businesses and global technology ecosystems to drive sustainable economic growth.

Strategic Collaboration for Economic Growth

The agreement was signed by LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol and Pakistan Tech Forum Co-Founder Farhan Saleem during a dedicated ceremony held at the Lahore Chamber. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Mudassir Naeem, Usman Akbar, Hamad Pervaiz, Ayesha Zaman, Imran Rashid, and Abdullah Ali, who underscored the importance of integrating technology into traditional business models. Reflecting on broader efforts to enhance institutional capacity and professional standards, the LCCI remains committed to initiatives like the LCCI President’s push for youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, which aligns with these new technological goals.

Capacity Building and Market Access

Under the terms of the MoU, both organizations will collaborate on trade development and investment attraction. They plan to organize a series of seminars, workshops, and business forums focused on critical areas such as company formation, international expansion, taxation, legal compliance, and regulatory frameworks. By fostering these connections, the initiative intends to provide Pakistani entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to compete in a globalized digital economy. Similar to how local organizations are optimizing administrative processes, such as the recent efforts where pensioners are getting free proof of life certificates through NADRA, this collaboration seeks to simplify complex business hurdles through expert guidance.

LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol highlighted that Pakistan’s technology sector possesses the latent potential to significantly boost national exports and create high-quality employment. He emphasized that strengthening linkages between the business community and the technology sector is vital for adopting modern innovation. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tech Forum Co-Founder Farhan Saleem noted that the platform would serve as a vital gateway for businesses to access global conferences and cross-border partnerships. As the nation pivots toward a more technology-integrated landscape, the forum aims to mirror successful advancements seen elsewhere, such as the Chinese Fuyao Glass achievement in mass-production for solar-integrated vehicle technology, by encouraging local adaptation of sophisticated tech standards. The agreement also mandates the creation of robust networks connecting startups and SMEs with international investors and industry leaders.
