Four Terrorists Killed in Security Operations in Kalat and Gwadar; Pakistan Army Major Martyred

*ISLAMABAD, October 19, 2026:* Four terrorists were killed during intelligence-based operations by security forces in Balochistan’s Kalat and Gwadar districts, while Pakistan Army Major Wajahat Waheed embraced martyrdom in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast during a clearance operation in the Pasni area of Gwadar.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), intelligence reports indicated the presence of several hideouts belonging to the Indian-backed terrorist group Fitna al-Hindustan in Jatakabad, Kalat district, and Shadi Kaur, in Gwadar’s Pasni tehsil. The hideouts were reportedly posing a threat to the local population.

On October 18, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Jatakabad, Kalat. During the operation, the terrorists’ hideout was effectively targeted, leading to an intense exchange of fire in which four terrorists were killed. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the area, the military’s media wing said.

Meanwhile, security forces were conducting a clearance operation in the Shadi Kaur area of Pasni, Gwadar, to eliminate terrorists and secure the surrounding area when their team was targeted by an improvised explosive device. The blast resulted in the martyrdom of Major Wajahat Waheed, who was leading the team.

Major Wajahat Waheed, 34, belonged to Lahore. He laid down his life while performing his duties.

According to ISPR, clearance operations were continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure security. The military’s media wing said counterterrorism operations would continue with full determination under the government’s vision of *Azm-e-Istehkam*, approved by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for killing four terrorists during the operations in Kalat and Gwadar. He also paid homage to Major Wajahat Waheed, who was martyred in the IED blast in Pasni.

The prime minister expressed his condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue operations until terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
