Court Grants Bail to Iqrar-ul-Hassan, Orders Release Against Rs2 Million Surety Bonds

*KARACHI (3D Media):* A Karachi court has approved the bail application of television anchor and Awam Raj Tehreek chief Iqrar-ul-Hassan, ordering his release against surety bonds worth Rs2 million.

Judicial Magistrate East Gulraiz Memon approved the bail plea during a hearing and directed that Iqrar-ul-Hassan be released upon submission of the required surety bonds.

Iqrar-ul-Hassan was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over allegations of circulating allegedly anti-state content on social media.

During the hearing, the investigating agency informed the court that further interrogation of the accused was not required, although the forensic report of his digital devices was still awaited.

It may be recalled that the court had rejected Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s bail application on October 22. However, his latest bail plea has now been approved, paving the way for his release after completion of the legal formalities.
