ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – A critical meeting, convened under the stewardship of Rawalpindi Division Commissioner and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engr. Aamer Khattak, took place to meticulously review land management affairs and the ongoing progress of the Master Plan Rawalpindi. The session saw the participation of key officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, the Deputy Commissioner of Attock, and Assistant Commissioners from Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, Hassan Abdal, and Fateh Jang. Participants delivered in-depth presentations detailing various properties and land-related issues within District Rawalpindi, District Chakwal, District Murree, and across the diverse tehsils of the region. These briefings provided the chair with a comprehensive overview of the status of numerous properties, potential development avenues, and administrative challenges pertinent to their respective jurisdictions. Commissioner Rawalpindi, Engr. Aamer Khattak, issued directives for all relevant departments and district administrations to transcend administrative boundaries and foster a unified, coordinated approach to ensure robust planning and development throughout the division. The Chief Planner of RDA subsequently presented a detailed account of the Master Plan Rawalpindi, delineating the advancements made to date and the remaining critical objectives. Following a thorough examination of the presentation, the Commissioner urged the concerned officers to accelerate efforts on the Master Plan, ensuring its punctual finalisation. Engr. Khattak underscored that the completion of the Master Plan Rawalpindi is poised to establish a solid groundwork for methodical urban expansion, enhanced infrastructure, and sustainable development across the entire region. During the deliberations, he highlighted the paramount importance of coordinated planning and effective land management in addressing the escalating challenges of urbanisation. The Commissioner of Rawalpindi emphasised the imperative to protect public lands, preempt encroachments, and optimise land use planning in strict adherence to the Master Plan’s strategic goals. He further articulated that an all-encompassing and integrated planning framework is indispensable for fostering sustainable progress, preserving the environment, and elevating the living standards for all residents in the region. The meeting was further attended by the Additional Director General RDA, Chief Planner RDA, Director Building Control, Director Land RDA, Director Engineering RDA, Director Estate Management RDA, and a host of other senior officials.
