ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – The Government of Pakistan has intensified its policy against undocumented foreign nationals, launching a major countrywide crackdown. The Federal Ministry of Interior has officially directed law enforcement agencies and district administrations across the country to arrest all Afghan nationals residing without a valid visa, effective from July 10, 2026.

Nationwide Directives Issued

Official directives have been dispatched to the relevant administrations of all four provinces, the federal capital Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. According to the executive order, immediate legal action will be initiated against any Afghan citizen found without valid travel documents after the stipulated deadline. Following due legal process, arrested individuals will be deported to their home country.

Daily Progress Reporting Mandated

To ensure strict monitoring of the campaign, the Ministry of Interior has mandated that starting July 11, all provincial governments and concerned departments must submit detailed daily progress reports. These reports will explicitly compile the number of undocumented individuals identified, total arrests made, legal actions taken, and their current legal status.

Enforcement of Immigration Regulations

This decisive step is part of the Government of Pakistan’s ongoing state policy enforcing strict immigration regulations, under which several actions have previously been taken against undocumented individuals. Officials reiterated that valid travel documents and a legitimate visa are mandatory for all foreign nationals residing in Pakistan, emphasizing that non-compliance will face strict, indiscriminate legal action. Following these fresh instructions, enforcement of immigration laws is expected to tighten significantly across the country from July 10.
