ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Qatar on Monday to undertake a one-day official visit. The Prime Minister is being accompanied by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on this high-level diplomatic mission.

Official Itinerary and Condolences

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the primary objective of the visit is to hold a meeting with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During the interaction, the Prime Minister will convey his deepest condolences to the Amir, the Qatari royal family, and the people of Qatar regarding the passing of the former Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The visit underscores the enduring, decades-long fraternal ties and mutual goodwill shared between Pakistan and Qatar. As the government continues its diplomatic engagements, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Commitment to Women’s Empowerment Initiatives, mirroring the country’s broader efforts to foster international cooperation. The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
