This project represents a strategic effort to enhance the city’s capacity for hosting global sporting events, aligning with broader goals for regional peace and stability through the promotion of international athletic engagement.

Project Scope and Location

The upcoming facility is slated for development in the vicinity of Sector D-12, situated at the scenic foothills of the Margalla Hills. The stadium is designed with a seating capacity exceeding 35,000 spectators. Engineers and architects have modeled the venue’s design to adhere to rigorous international standards, incorporating sophisticated architectural elements that draw inspiration from the renowned Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing focus on strategic economic reforms and infrastructure modernization.

Financial Breakdown and Timeline

According to the project’s formal PC-I documentation, the total estimated cost of the development is valued at Rs 11.9 billion. The construction phase is aggressively scheduled, with a target completion window of one year following the official commencement of work. Of the approved Rs 8.9 billion bid, approximately Rs 5.8 billion is dedicated to the primary three-storey stadium edifice, while a allocation of Rs 3.1 billion has been earmarked for essential supporting infrastructure. This includes the development of a three-kilometre, six-lane access road, extensive parking facilities, and supplementary site development works.

The contract was awarded following a competitive tendering process facilitated through the e-Pak Acquisition and Disposal System (e-PADS). Two joint ventures submitted technical and financial proposals, with the Habib-ZKB-EA Joint Venture ultimately securing the bid after a comprehensive technical evaluation.
