Pakistan Emerges as a Key Regional Power Through Successful Diplomacy: Iftikhar Ali Malik
LAHORE, October 25: Former President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik, has said that Pakistan has emerged as an important regional power through its effective diplomatic engagement amid the Middle East crisis following the US-Israel-Iran war.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said Pakistan’s nuclear capability, strategic geographical location, large population and extensive diplomatic outreach had significantly enhanced its importance in the prevailing geopolitical environment.
He observed that Pakistan’s strategic position at the crossroads of South Asia, Iran, the Arabian Peninsula, Central Asia, Russia and China made it a significant player in regional and international affairs.
Iftikhar Ali Malik said Pakistan’s geographical location was a valuable national asset that could be effectively utilised to promote regional peace, economic cooperation and stability. However, he emphasised the need for a balanced and independent foreign policy to safeguard national interests and maintain strategic autonomy.
