ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited the under-construction Islamabad Model Jail on Saturday to review the progress of the long-awaited project, directing authorities to accelerate work while maintaining the highest construction standards. This development comes as part of broader government efforts to align national infrastructure with modern requirements, similar to how Saudi Arabia accelerates Vision 2030 to transform post-oil economy by prioritizing critical long-term developmental milestones.

Project Inspection and Official Briefing

During the visit, the minister received a detailed briefing on the ongoing development work and personally inspected various components of the facility. Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) were in attendance to report on the engineering milestones achieved to date. The project, which has faced significant delays in previous years, is now being treated as a high-priority initiative by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Talal Chaudhry emphasized that the Islamabad Model Jail serves as a tangible testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to modernizing the nation’s correctional infrastructure. The minister explicitly stated that construction standards must not be compromised under any circumstances, ensuring that the facility adheres to prescribed engineering and safety protocols.
