ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and Member of the National Assembly Farooq Sattar on Wednesday held a consultative meeting to discuss strategic measures aimed at promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The dialogue focused on bolstering industrial productivity, accelerating employment opportunities, and fostering sustainable economic growth across the country.

During the session, the two leaders exchanged critical views on strengthening the MSME sector through robust policy support, improved industrial competitiveness, and the promotion of domestic entrepreneurship. This initiative aligns with broader government efforts, similar to those championed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who consistently emphasizes the importance of youth employment and digital skill acquisition to drive national productivity.

Haroon Akhtar Khan reiterated that the MSME sector serves as the essential backbone of Pakistan’s economy. He highlighted that these enterprises play a pivotal role in large-scale employment generation, industrial development, and the expansion of national exports. He noted that under the current administration, the government is implementing comprehensive reforms to cultivate a business-friendly environment.

The SAPM further remarked that a more resilient MSME sector would inevitably lead to an increase in exports and higher industrial output. He emphasized that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to facilitating the business community.
