Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Ties Have Stood the Test of Time, Says Iftikhar Ali Malik

LAHORE, Aug. 2 (Special Correspondent): Former President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Iftikhar Ali Malik on Sunday said the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has always stood the test of time, describing the Kingdom as a “red line” for Pakistan because of its strategic importance and unwavering support.

In a press statement, he said Pakistan highly values its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, which remains a key partner in promoting regional peace, stability and economic development.

He said Saudi Arabia plays a vital role in Pakistan’s energy security as one of the country’s principal suppliers of crude oil and petroleum products. Reliable and affordable energy supplies, he noted, are essential for sustaining industrial growth, increasing exports, creating employment opportunities and maintaining macroeconomic stability.

Iftikhar Ali Malik called for offering Saudi investors transparent and attractive investment opportunities in Pakistan while facilitating stronger business linkages between entrepreneurs of both countries. He said enhanced bilateral economic cooperation would create new business opportunities and contribute to sustainable development.

He appreciated Saudi Arabia’s consistent support and goodwill towards Pakistan and expressed confidence that the historic brotherly relationship would be transformed into an even stronger economic partnership, leading to significant growth in bilateral trade and investment in the years ahead.
