AJK Voters Reposed Confidence in PML-N in Elections, Says PM Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said the results of the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections reflected the confidence of the people in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the prime minister congratulated PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the party’s successful candidates on their victory in the second phase of the AJK elections.

He said all victorious PML-N candidates deserved heartfelt congratulations, adding that the electoral success was the outcome of the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the party’s effective strategy, and the tireless efforts of its workers.

The prime minister said the PML-N had conducted a well-organized and successful election campaign in Azad Kashmir, which had earned the confidence of the electorate.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the development, prosperity and welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir remained among the top priorities of the PML-N, and the government would continue its efforts to achieve these objectives.

He further said the active participation of political parties in the second phase of the elections reflected the strength of the democratic process and would contribute to further consolidation of democratic traditions in the country.
