ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – The Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Türkiye, the Republic of Indonesia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have issued a joint statement expressing their strongest condemnation of ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip. The signatories specifically denounced the targeting of healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure, alongside broader attacks on civilian infrastructure that continue to result in significant loss of life, particularly among women and children. These actions, the ministers noted, represent a grave violation of international law, including established international humanitarian law.

Breach of International Obligations and Peace Efforts

The ministers asserted that the continuation of these violations constitutes a direct breach of Israel’s obligations under international law and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. The joint statement highlighted concerns that these actions undermine regional and international efforts to implement the second phase of the established roadmap. This follows the recent announcement by US President Donald Trump that Palestinian factions have accepted the roadmap—which includes provisions for the confinement of weapons. The ministers warned that ongoing military actions threaten to derail the current political process, potentially reignite the cycle of regional escalation, and further exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe within the Gaza Strip.

Humanitarian Imperatives and Settler Violence

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the ministers stressed that the protection of civilians and the safeguarding of medical facilities and personnel are non-negotiable legal obligations. They reiterated that ensuring the immediate, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance and medical supplies throughout the Gaza Strip must not be compromised under any circumstances. Furthermore, the ministers affirmed that these violations in Gaza cannot be viewed in isolation from the actions of settlers in the Occupied West Bank, the unlawful expansion of settlements, and unilateral measures aimed at altering the status quo in Occupied Jerusalem. Such practices, they stated, form a systematic policy intended to impose a fait accompli by force, undermining the two-State solution and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Call for International Accountability

The joint statement includes a renewed call to the international community, and specifically the United Nations Security Council, to assume its moral and legal responsibilities. The ministers urged the council to take practical measures to compel Israel to fulfill its obligations, including adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 2803. They demanded that those responsible for grave violations be held accountable to preserve prospects for a permanent ceasefire and the full implementation of peace agreements. The ministers concluded by categorically rejecting any attempts to annex Occupied Palestinian Territory or forcibly displace the Palestinian people, reaffirming that a just peace requires the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
