President Zardari Commends National Leadership for Advancing Pakistan’s Global Interests

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday formally commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir for their robust efforts in safeguarding Pakistan’s national interests and fostering unity among Islamic nations. During his address at the inauguration of the Yadgar-e-Fatah monument—a structure built to commemorate Pakistan’s victory in the recent conflict with India—the President lauded the current administration’s diplomatic agility, specifically citing their role in regional peace efforts between the United States and Iran.

Reflecting on Diplomatic Legacy and Modern Alliances

Reflecting on the nation’s historical trajectory, President Zardari invoked the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, noting his foundational role in organizing the historic Islamic conference in Lahore which paved the way for modern Islamic brotherhood. The President specifically praised the collaborative efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and General Asim Munir regarding the landmark joint defense agreement recently signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye. Such initiatives reflect Pakistan’s growing stature as a diplomatic heavyweight in the Muslim world.

Stance on Global Conflicts and Regional Stability

Addressing the current geopolitical climate, the President reaffirmed that Pakistan stands firmly against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, labeling Israel’s regional expansionist agenda as unacceptable. He underscored that while other regional powers may pursue agendas such as ‘Akhand Bharat’, Pakistan remains committed to being a beacon of inclusivity, noting that the country treats its own Hindu minority with significantly greater respect and parity. The President emphasized that the state would remain steadfast with its allies to prevent further regional destabilization.

Commitment to National Development and Vision

In his closing remarks, President Zardari spoke on the future of the nation, urging a collective focus on the welfare of upcoming generations through robust educational reforms and economic development. He noted the growing desire of the diaspora to return and contribute to the nation’s growth, aligning with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The event concluded with General Syed Asim Munir presenting commemorative souvenirs to both the President and the Prime Minister, marking the successful unveiling of the memorial. The government continues to focus on long-term stability, mirroring the spirit observed during other state-led celebrations such as when the RCCI celebrated the 79th Independence Day with renewed national pride.
