Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Distributes Over 7,000 Free Plants on Independence Day

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board organized a special free plant distribution camp at Roomi Park on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, distributing more than 7,000 plants among residents of the cantonment.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness among citizens about plantation, environmental protection and the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and green. Residents participated actively in the camp and received plants free of cost.

The plants distributed at the camp included different varieties of fruit-bearing, flowering and shade trees, enabling residents to promote plantation in and around their homes and neighborhoods.

The special camp was organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations to highlight the commitment to making Pakistan greener, cleaner and more beautiful and to encourage citizens to plant more trees.

According to the Cantonment Board administration, plantation plays an important role in improving the environment and ensuring a clean, healthy and green environment for future generations.

The administration emphasized that citizens’ participation and cooperation were crucial for promoting plantation and protecting the environment. Residents were also encouraged not only to plant trees but to ensure their proper care and maintenance for sustainable environmental benefits.
