CM Punjab launches Rs16 billion Jinnah Institute of Cardiology with 250 beds

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formally launched the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, a modern 250-bed cardiac facility being established at a cost of Rs16 billion.

The project will provide heart patients with state-of-the-art medical facilities, while a dedicated Heart Transplant Centre will also be established. The Punjab government has announced a special fund to provide free heart transplant treatment to deserving patients.

The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will feature modern catheterization laboratories, MRI facilities, intensive care units, emergency services and cardiac surgery, along with other advanced facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases.

According to the Punjab government, the institute aims to provide advanced cardiac care to patients across the province and reduce their dependence on treatment outside the province or abroad for complex heart-related conditions.
