ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that Pakistan and Qatar maintain longstanding, robust, and brotherly relations characterized by mutual respect and cooperation. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Sheikh Naif bin Eid Al Thani, Chairman of Ritaj Group and Tamim Holdings, who called on him at his office on Monday.

According to an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the high-level meeting was attended by key government figures, including Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Prime Minister’s Adviser Haroon Akhtar, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, alongside other senior officials. This engagement follows a series of high-level diplomatic discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties across the Gulf region.

Welcoming the Qatari delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the fraternal bond between the two nations, noting that the relationship is rooted in shared values and strategic interests. Reflecting on his recent diplomatic visit to Qatar—undertaken to offer condolences on the passing of the father of the Amir of Qatar—the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of maintaining frequent top-level contact. He reiterated that Pakistan is eagerly anticipating the upcoming visit of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which is expected to further consolidate bilateral cooperation.

During the deliberations, the Qatari delegation expressed gratitude to the Pakistani leadership for their warm hospitality.
