Strategic Political and Defence Committee Meeting Under Makkah Agreement to Be Held Today; Field Marshal Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Asif to Visit Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee (SPDC), established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, will be held today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in attendance.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will travel to Riyadh today to attend the meeting.
The meeting will also be attended by the respective Foreign Ministers, Defence Ministers and Chiefs of General Staff of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
The participants will discuss the latest developments in the region and review ongoing cooperation under the framework of the Makkah Agreement.
Pakistan’s participation in the meeting reflects its resolve to continue contributing towards regional peace and stability and to further strengthen political and defence cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye under the Makkah Agreement.
