CM Sohail Afridi Announces Long March Schedule, to Begin in Lakki Marwat on October 4 and Reach Khairabad on October 8

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced the detailed schedule for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march, with the first phase set to begin today, October 4, from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat and the participating convoys scheduled to reach Khairabad on October 8.According to the schedule announced by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the long march will begin at 1pm today from Gandi Chowk, Lakki Marwat. Participants from Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bannu and Lakki Marwat will join the march. The convoy will camp near Karak overnight.On October 5, participants from Karak will join the march at noon, with the convoy scheduled to depart at 12:30pm and camp near Kohat for the night.On October 6, participants from Kohat, Hangu, Kurram and Orakzai will join the convoy at noon. The march will then proceed from Kohat towards Peshawar and spend the night near Matani.According to the schedule, the convoy will depart from Budhni/Budber in Peshawar at 12:30pm on October 7. Participants from Khyber district will join the march at Budber, while other Peshawar participants will join at the Kohat Road Bridge and motorway toll plaza. The convoy will spend the night near the Charsadda Interchange.On October 8, the convoy will depart from Charsadda Interchange at 12:30pm, with participants from Charsadda and Mohmand joining the march.Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said people from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would assemble at Khairabad on October 8, where they would spend the night. He said the future course of action for the march would be announced there.The detailed schedule comes amid a political deadlock between the government and PTI over the proposed long march. Government and opposition negotiations continued for several hours but failed to reach an agreement on calling off the march.PTI has maintained that a final decision regarding the march would be taken after its leaders are allowed to meet party founder Imran Khan.
