AI reshaping software careers, digital skills education must evolve: Saif ur Rehman

LAHORE, September 6: Coordinator to Federal Tax Ombudsman Saif ur Rehman on Sunday said artificial intelligence (AI) was reshaping careers in software development, one of the most sought-after fields, and would continue to play a crucial role in the sector’s growth and evolution.

Addressing a delegation of industrialists here, he said AI was bringing significant changes to the software industry, making it essential for professionals to upgrade their skills to remain relevant in the evolving technological landscape.

He said without adequate knowledge and skills to work with intelligent machines, desired levels of productivity could not be achieved.

Saif ur Rehman said the use of AI was enabling small teams to reduce salary costs, accelerate product development cycles and improve profit margins, while restructuring by larger companies was also providing them with a competitive advantage.

He said software would continue to benefit all sectors of the economy as the demand for digital systems increased, while AI would play an increasingly important role in the sector.

He stressed the need for the entire digital skills education pipeline to evolve in line with emerging technologies and modern requirements.
