Americas, Iran and Oman Close to Temporary Hormuz Deal, War Will End Soon, Says Trump

WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has said that negotiations with Iran are continuing and expressed confidence that the ongoing conflict will end very soon. He also stated that the United States, Iran and Oman are close to reaching a temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for normal maritime traffic.

Speaking to reporters, President Trump said all parties were engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of global trade. He described the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as vital for international energy supplies and global commerce, adding that negotiations were making encouraging progress.

Trump dismissed reports claiming that the conflict with Iran had significantly depleted U.S. weapons stockpiles, calling such reports baseless. He stressed that the United States’ defense capabilities remain fully intact.

The U.S. president also rejected media reports suggesting disagreements or tensions with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, saying his administration remains united on national security matters.

Meanwhile, Arab media reported that diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire between the United States, Israel and Iran have stalled, with negotiations yet to produce a breakthrough. According to the reports, Iranian authorities have tightened internal security across the country, particularly in Tehran, amid continuing regional tensions.

Analysts believe that if a temporary agreement on the Strait of Hormuz is reached, it could help ease tensions in the Gulf and stabilize global oil supplies and energy markets. However, they caution that achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and lasting peace will require sustained diplomatic engagement by all sides.
