Attock Cement explores potential merger with Fauji Cement

KARACHI, August 11: Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (PSX: ACPL) has authorized its management to explore and evaluate the feasibility of a potential merger with Fauji Cement Company Limited.

According to Mettis Global, the company’s Board of Directors has directed the management to assess the feasibility of the proposed merger, with recommendations to be presented to the Board for consideration.

The development was disclosed through a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The proposed merger remains at the evaluation stage and no final decision has been taken so far. The feasibility assessment and subsequent recommendations will determine the next course of action.

In the same meeting, the Attock Cement Board approved a proposal to shift the company’s registered office from Karachi, Sindh, to Rawalpindi, Punjab.

The proposed relocation of the registered office will be subject to approval by shareholders through a special resolution at the company’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting, along with completion of all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

The potential merger comes amid continued consolidation and restructuring in Pakistan’s cement sector, where companies are increasingly exploring strategic combinations to strengthen their market position and operational efficiency.
