BOI Holds 10th Board of Approvals Meeting to Advance SEZ Reforms and Investment
ISLAMABAD: The Board of Investment (BOI) on Wednesday convened the 10th meeting of the Board of Approvals (BOA) for Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to discuss legislative amendments, operational strategies and key development initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s investment climate and economic growth.
The high-level meeting was co-chaired by Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar, and Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kiyani.
The meeting was attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Secretary BOI and SIFC Jamil Qureshi, Coordinator to the Prime Minister Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, the Secretary Law, and senior officials from the Board of Investment, Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Ministry of Industries and Production, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Law and Justice.
Participants reviewed proposals related to Special Economic Zones, focusing on legislative reforms, operational improvements and strategic measures to enhance the effectiveness of SEZs.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting investment, accelerating industrial development and creating a more conducive business environment to support sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.
