Business Community Welcomes Pak-Saudi-Turkey Defence Pact

LAHORE, August 8: The business community has strongly welcomed the strategic Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Turkey defence pact, describing it as a timely and important development that would send a strong and unequivocal message to the world that the Muslim Ummah stands united against aggression, destabilisation and threats to regional peace.

In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, former FPCCI Vice President Zahid Iqbal Ch., FPCCI Regional Committee on Food Convener Shahid Imran and Coordinator to the Federal Tax Ombudsman Saif Ur Rehman said the strategic understanding would strengthen collective security, enhance defence cooperation and contribute significantly to peace and stability in the region.

They said the pact reflected the shared commitment of the three countries to safeguarding their sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.

The business leaders expressed hope that the emerging strategic partnership would pave the way for broader cooperation in economic, diplomatic, technological and defence sectors, ultimately promoting greater solidarity, stability and prosperity across the Muslim world.

They said the partnership should be viewed as a collective mechanism for promoting peace, stability, mutual respect and security. They stressed that unity, mutual consultation and coordinated efforts among Muslim countries were essential to effectively address growing geopolitical challenges and emerging security threats.
