Colorful Independence Day Celebration Held at National Press Club Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A colorful and dignified ceremony was held at the National Press Club Islamabad to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, attended by a large number of journalists, their families and people from different walks of life.

The ceremony featured national songs, patriotic performances and other programmes that filled the atmosphere with national spirit and enthusiasm.

Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Focal Person Afnan Mishal was the chief guest. National Press Club President Abdul Razzaq Sial, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao, former Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser Nadeem Ashiq Awan, Pakistan International Human Rights Organization Chairman Malik Habib Orakzai, former NPC presidents Farooq Faisal Khan and Shehryar Khan, former NPC vice president Dr. Saadia Kamal, Mian Sohail Iqbal, Syed Zigham Naqvi, Qaiser Mirza, RIUJ Dastoor President Rana Kausar Ali, senior journalists Syed Mohsin Raza, Sarfraz Raja, Hassan Khan, Ashfaq Bangash, Raja Manzoor Shakrani and Mujahid Bhatti were among those who attended the event.

Renowned singers performed national songs, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism and national pride. The audience warmly applauded the performances and expressed their love for Pakistan.

A large number of children and families also participated in the celebrations, adding to the festive atmosphere. Participants waved the national flag and raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad,” expressing their commitment and love for the country.

Addressing the ceremony, speakers paid tribute to the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan and said that freedom was both a great blessing and a national responsibility.

They said the journalist community would continue playing its role in the country’s development, strengthening democracy, protecting freedom of expression and promoting national unity.

The speakers emphasized that Pakistan came into being as a result of immense sacrifices and stressed the need to educate the younger generation about the objectives of the Pakistan Movement, the struggle of the country’s founders and their national responsibilities.

The most memorable moment of the ceremony came at midnight when the cake marking Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was cut. The chief guest, National Press Club leadership, senior journalists and other participants jointly cut the cake and congratulated one another on Independence Day.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security, prosperity, development and stability of Pakistan. The participants reaffirmed their resolve to play their role in the progress of the country and the promotion of national unity.
