*LAHORE, October 11:* Convener of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Committee on Food, Shahid Imran, has said that cordial relations between employers and employees are essential for maintaining workplace discipline, improving productivity and promoting sustainable business growth.
He expressed these views while chairing a seminar titled “Cordial Working Relations Between Employers and Employees: A Key Factor for Greater Productivity” held in Lahore on Sunday.
Shahid Imran said that business entities must ensure transparency and fairness in their dealings with all stakeholders to achieve success and maintain credibility in the market. He emphasized that employees, particularly those in lower-level positions, should feel comfortable interacting with management.
He said it was the responsibility of management to provide a cordial working environment and honour contractual commitments. At the same time, employers had the right to expect employees to demonstrate commitment and contribute to improving productivity.
He observed that organisations prioritising employee relations were better positioned to maintain discipline and improve overall performance.
Shahid Imran called upon the public and private sectors to adopt modern labour-management practices through awareness programmes, training and institutional dialogue.
He urged the private sector to invest in employees’ professional training and welfare, saying that a motivated and skilled workforce was indispensable for enhancing business competitiveness.
He said improved workplace relations could ultimately contribute to higher production, better product quality, stronger exports and sustainable economic growth.
