DPM Ishaq Dar, Iranian Foreign Minister discuss regional situation, Occupied East Jerusalem

ISLAMABAD (Special Correspondent): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss recent regional and international developments, with particular focus on the deteriorating situation in Occupied East Jerusalem.

According to the Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the evolving regional environment and emphasized the importance of peace, stability and diplomatic engagement in addressing ongoing challenges. They also shared perspectives on developments affecting the wider Middle East.

The conversation also covered Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and maintaining close diplomatic engagement between the two neighbouring countries.

During the call, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar invited Foreign Minister Araghchi to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience. The proposed visit is expected to provide an opportunity for further discussions on bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of shared concern.

The high-level contact comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Pakistan and Iran continuing to support dialogue, regional stability and peaceful resolution of disputes through diplomatic means.
