*FBR Extends Income Tax Return Filing Deadline to October 31*

ISLAMABAD, October 15: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by another 15 days, setting October 31, 2026, as the new deadline.

According to the FBR, the decision was taken in response to requests from various trade organisations and tax bar associations. The original deadline of September 30, 2026, had previously been extended to October 15, 2026.

Under a circular issued by the FBR, the extension has been granted by exercising the powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. The relief applies to taxpayers whose original deadline for filing returns was September 30, 2026.

Following the extension, eligible taxpayers can now file their income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by October 31, 2026.
