Google Gemini Access for Pakistani Students to Empower Youth with Digital Skills: Iftikhar Ali Malik

LAHORE, Aug 20: Former President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik on Thursday welcomed Google’s announcement to provide students in Pakistan with free access to “Google Gemini” for one year, describing the initiative as a significant step towards empowering youth with the latest digital technologies.

In a statement, he said the initiative would provide Pakistani students an opportunity to explore artificial intelligence, enhance their learning capabilities and develop skills aligned with the rapidly evolving global technology landscape.

He appreciated Google for extending the facility to Pakistani students and expressed hope that it would help create a digitally skilled and innovation-driven generation.

Iftikhar Ali Malik said Pakistan had a large pool of talented young people who, if equipped with modern technological tools, could play a pivotal role in accelerating the country’s digital transformation and economic development.

He stressed the need for educational institutions, industry and technology companies to work together to expand access to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

He said greater familiarity with AI tools would enable students to improve their research, productivity, creativity and problem-solving skills while preparing them for emerging employment opportunities in the global digital economy.
