MCI to Issue Property Tax Bills for FY 2026-27 Within 10 Working Days

Islamabad: The Directorate of Revenue of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has announced that property tax bills for the fiscal year 2026-27 will start being issued within 10 working days following the upgradation of the property tax billing system.

The announcement applies to property tax bills for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties.

In view of the delay caused by the billing system upgrade, the rebate period for payment of property tax for FY 2026-27 has also been extended. The rebate period will now be calculated from the date of issuance of the property tax bill instead of any previous date.

According to the Directorate of Revenue, the additional 5 percent rebate available for early payment will also remain applicable from the date of issuance of the bill until its prescribed due date. The measure is aimed at providing taxpayers sufficient time to receive and verify their bills and make payments within the stipulated period while benefiting from the available rebate.

The facility will apply to all relevant residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties.

The MCI has urged property owners and taxpayers to ensure timely payment after receiving their property tax bills in order to avail themselves of the applicable rebate and avoid any inconvenience.

For guidance and queries, taxpayers can contact the Directorate of Revenue at 9252823 and 9253057 for residential areas, while queries regarding commercial areas can be addressed at 9252498 and 9252461.

The Directorate of Revenue, MCI, reiterated its commitment to modernizing and upgrading the property tax billing mechanism to make the system more efficient, transparent and taxpayer-friendly.

Citizens have also been advised to obtain property tax-related information only from official sources and cooperate with the Directorate of Revenue by making timely payments to support the provision and improvement of civic and municipal services in Islamabad.
