Pakistan Armed Forces Reaffirm Unwavering Support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

RAWALPINDI, Aug. 5: The Armed Forces of Pakistan on Wednesday reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity with the resilient people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, reiterating their support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan expressed complete solidarity with the people of IIOJK.

The statement said the Armed Forces remain steadfast in supporting the Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in international law and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The ISPR said the continued illegal occupation of IIOJK by Indian security forces, marked by a prolonged military siege, widespread human rights violations and attempts to alter the demographic composition of the territory, remains a matter of grave concern. It added that such actions, coupled with provocative rhetoric and belligerent posturing, only aggravate regional instability and prolong the suffering of the Kashmiri people.

The statement emphasized that lasting peace and stability in South Asia are intrinsically linked to the just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of IIOJK, the Armed Forces and people of Pakistan reiterated their enduring commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people in their just and rightful struggle for freedom.
