Hanif Abbasi said both train services had remained suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the decision to restore the services was made in response to long-standing public demand and in the best interest of Pakistan Railways.
The railways minister said the department plans to restore more suspended train services during the current year as part of its strategy to expand rail operations and provide better public transport across the country.
He added that passenger facilities would also be further upgraded in line with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to improve the quality and efficiency of Pakistan Railways.
