ISLAMABAD, July 31: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on Friday met the outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the petroleum and energy sectors while strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, the minister appreciated Ambassador Farhadov’s contributions to enhancing Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and acknowledged his efforts in promoting closer cooperation during his diplomatic tenure, particularly in the energy sector.

Ali Pervaiz Malik noted that collaboration between Pakistani companies and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has grown significantly in recent years, creating a strong foundation for broader cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The minister conveyed his best wishes to the outgoing ambassador for his future assignments and thanked him for his role in further strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership between Islamabad and Baku.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties, Ali Pervaiz Malik said both countries share a common vision of expanding economic cooperation, especially in the petroleum and energy sectors, to generate long-term benefits for their people and future generations.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked the Government of Pakistan for its support and warm hospitality throughout his tenure. Both sides expressed confidence that the close partnership between Pakistan and Azerbaijan would continue to grow, opening new avenues of cooperation and achieving further milestones in the years ahead.
