ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation on Friday evening with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthening bilateral cooperation. During the warm and cordial dialogue, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes for the health and swift recovery of the Malaysian leader.

Deepening Strategic and Economic Ties

The two Prime Ministers expressed their satisfaction regarding the positive trajectory of relations between Pakistan and Malaysia. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining this momentum, with a specific focus on enhancing trade and investment opportunities between the two nations. The strengthening of these ties follows recent high-level diplomatic engagements, including the recent Malaysian Home Affairs Minister’s call on Field Marshal Asim Munir at GHQ, which underscores the deepening strategic collaboration between the two countries.

He expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their proactive leadership in steering these initiatives. In response, the Prime Minister thanked his Malaysian counterpart for Malaysia’s consistent support of Pakistan’s diplomatic endeavors and reaffirmed the country’s resolve to continue working with friendly nations to promote peace in the Middle East.

Future Diplomatic Engagement

Concluding the conversation, both leaders agreed to meet at a mutually convenient time in the near future.
