Political Party Chief Upset Over Not Getting Share in Governor’s Rule or Governorship, Says Mohsin Naqvi

*LAHORE, October 16:* Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the head of a political party is extremely displeased over not receiving a share in the imposition of governor’s rule or being offered the governorship.

Speaking informally to journalists in Lahore, Naqvi alleged that the unnamed politician had relied on the establishment for decades to advance his political career.

The interior minister claimed that the politician had even arranged air tickets for members of his political party through the establishment. He said it was inappropriate for such politicians to criticise others while overlooking their own political history.

Naqvi stressed that political differences should be expressed through arguments and facts rather than inappropriate language and allegations.

Commenting on the issue of resources allocated to the districts of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), the interior minister questioned the stance of certain political leaders. He asked why they had remained silent when the former tribal districts were allegedly not receiving their due share of resources over the years.

He maintained that the rights and resources of the former tribal districts should be treated as a matter of public interest rather than political expediency.

Naqvi also highlighted the serious security challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, urging political leaders to avoid inflammatory rhetoric and political confrontation and instead contribute to restoring peace and eliminating terrorism.

He said the province needed peace, stability and collective efforts rather than political confrontation at a time when it was facing significant security challenges.
