PTA Suspends Licences of Five Telecom Companies for Violating Regulatory Rules

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended the licences of five telecom companies for violating regulatory requirements, including failure to submit audited financial statements and non-payment of annual licence fees for the financial year 2023-24.

The affected companies are Al-Wujood Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd., Fast Fiber Net (Pvt.) Ltd., Geo Tech, Navitronics (Pvt.) Ltd., and Z Com Networks (Pvt.) Ltd. The action has been taken under Section 23 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996.

PTA has directed all Long Distance and International (LDI), Local Loop (LL), Telecom Infrastructure Provider (TIP) and mobile operators to immediately suspend all telecommunication services being provided to these companies.

The authority warned that if the companies fail to submit the required financial documents, clear their outstanding dues and comply with regulatory requirements within one month, their licences may be cancelled without any further notice.

According to PTA, the companies were issued several reminders and show-cause notices but failed to respond or appear before the authority during the scheduled hearings. Consequently, PTA suspended their licences based on the available record.
