UBG Unanimously Endorses SM Tanveer for FPCCI Presidency, Forms Committee to Build Electoral Alliance

*ISLAMABAD:* The United Business Group (UBG) has unanimously approved the nomination of its Patron-in-Chief, SM Tanveer, for the upcoming presidency of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The decision was taken at a meeting where a resolution presented by UBG Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari was unanimously adopted by all members. Some participants joined the meeting through video link, while all those present endorsed SM Tanveer’s nomination by raising their hands.

UBG leaders described SM Tanveer’s nomination as a symbol of unity, confidence and strong leadership within the business community. They expressed confidence that his experience and business acumen would help make the FPCCI more active and effective in representing the interests of traders and industrialists.

UBG Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari said SM Tanveer was an effective voice for the business community and that, under his leadership, the issues faced by traders and industrialists would be highlighted more vigorously.

Ghulam Farooq described the nomination as an excellent decision in the broader interests of the business community, expressing complete confidence in SM Tanveer’s capabilities.

Khalid Tawab said SM Tanveer’s experience and business vision would play an important role in making the FPCCI more active and effective. Abdul Rauf Alam said the unanimous nomination reflected the group’s unity and its strong confidence in his leadership.

Hanif Gohar said SM Tanveer understood the challenges facing the business community and the wider economy, adding that he would represent traders and industrialists effectively.

Aamir Ata Bajwa said SM Tanveer’s leadership could further strengthen unity within the business community and support effective efforts to stabilise the national economy.

Momin Ali Malik said the nomination reflected the hopes and expectations of the business community and expressed confidence that the FPCCI’s role would be strengthened under his leadership.

Zubair Tufail described SM Tanveer as an experienced and dynamic business leader, saying the consensus on his nomination demonstrated UBG’s strong confidence in him.

The meeting also established a committee to contact various groups and candidates and work towards forming an electoral alliance for the upcoming FPCCI elections.

The committee comprises Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab, Abdul Rauf Alam, Zafar Bakhtawari, Aamir Ata Bajwa, Ghulam Farooq, Ghazanfar Bilour, Samina Fazil, Hanif Gohar, Zaki Ejaz and Ali Hussam Asghar.

The meeting was attended by Zubair Tufail, Ahsan Bakhtawari, Sheikh Riazuddin, Samina Fazil, Jawad Kazmi, Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry, Ghazanfar Bilour, Nauman Butt, Haji Ataur Rehman, Haji Iftikhar, Mian Rehman Aziz Chann, Mian Zafar Iqbal, Qurat-ul-Ain, Rauf Mukhtar, Zaki Ejaz, Daru Khan, Shabnam Zafar, Tariq Mahmood, Syed Mazhar Ali, Mian Zahid Hussain and other business leaders.

The unanimous endorsement of SM Tanveer and the formation of the electoral alliance committee mark a significant development in UBG’s preparations for the upcoming FPCCI elections.
