US, Pakistan Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Counterterrorism Cooperation WASHINGTON, Aug. 5: Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation against terrorism during the fourth round of the Pakistan-U.S. Counterterrorism Dialogue held in Washington, D.C. The dialogue was co-chaired by U.S. Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Gregory LoGerfo and Pakistan’s Special Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nabeel Munir. According to a joint statement issued after the meeting, both sides reviewed the evolving terrorist threat landscape, discussed ways to deepen counterterrorism cooperation, and explored measures to strengthen border security and dismantle terrorist facilitation networks. The two delegations underscored the shared importance of the Pakistan-U.S. counterterrorism partnership and reaffirmed their determination to jointly confront terrorism in all its forms. Pakistan and the United States also reiterated their resolve to counter terrorist organizations that threaten the security of their citizens and regional stability, including ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), Al-Qa’ida (AQ), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its affiliated groups. The joint statement said both governments committed to sustaining close counterterrorism collaboration to enhance the safety and security of their nations while contributing to long-term regional peace, prosperity, and stability.
