Independence Day Ceremony Held at PID Lahore Office

LAHORE, August 14: A ceremony was held at the Lahore office of the Press Information Department (PID) to mark Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day, with Director General PID Lahore Shafqat Abbas presiding over the event.

The ceremony was attended by prominent journalists, senior media representatives and members of the journalist community from Lahore, including Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, senior journalists Salman Ghani, Malik Salman, Shehbaz Arain and Hafiz Iqbal.

The participants cut an Independence Day cake with national enthusiasm and expressed their good wishes for Pakistan’s development, prosperity, security and stability.

On the occasion, the participants paid tribute to the sacrifices of the founders of Pakistan and leaders of the freedom movement.

They expressed their resolve that the journalist community would continue to play a positive and effective role in promoting national development, democratic stability and national unity.

The participants also resolved to highlight the significance of Pakistan’s independence and play their role in educating the younger generation about the objectives of Pakistan’s creation, national responsibilities and the importance of freedom.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security, sovereignty, stability, development and prosperity of Pakistan.
