Saad Rizvi and Ans Rizvi Are Not in Our Custody, FIA Tells Lahore High Court
*LAHORE:* The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has informed the Lahore High Court that Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi and his brother Hafiz Ans Hussain Rizvi are not in the agency’s custody.
The report was submitted during the hearing of a petition seeking the recovery of the two TLP leaders. Justice Javed Zafar heard the case.
In its report, the FIA informed the court that money laundering cases had been registered against both leaders and that they were wanted by the agency. However, it clarified that neither of them was currently in FIA custody.
According to the petitioners, Saad Rizvi and Ans Rizvi have been missing for 378 days. Their alleged disappearance has been challenged before the court, with the petition seeking their recovery and disclosure of their whereabouts.
During the hearing, the court expressed displeasure over the failure of the Ministry of Interior to submit its report despite previous directions. The court issued another notice to the ministry and directed it to submit a report within one week, explaining where the two leaders are and which authority, if any, has them in custody.
The court adjourned further proceedings until November 3, 2026.
