Maulana Crossed the Line, He Will Be Answered on Every Issue: Mohsin Naqvi

*Islamabad, October 29, 2026:* Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly criticised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the latter has crossed the line and will now be given a response to every statement.

Speaking during a Senate session, Naqvi said that as long as certain people continued receiving benefits and money from the state, they considered it a mother. However, when they were denied a share in the government, they began speaking against the very same state.

“When you keep receiving money, the state is your mother, but when you do not get a share in the government, you start spitting on it. This will not work,” the interior minister said.

Naqvi said he had personally held Maulana Fazlur Rehman in high regard, but his recent remarks concerning the state had crossed the limits. He added that Maulana would now receive a response to every statement.

The interior minister further said that JUI-F would no longer receive jobs, money or tickets from the state.

Commenting on the possibility of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Naqvi claimed that some leaders currently sitting on the opposition benches had themselves been urging the government to impose Governor’s Rule to get rid of the prevailing situation. He said he could substantiate his claim.

Clarifying his recent visit to Iran, Naqvi said it was neither related to any defence agreement nor undertaken out of personal interest. He explained that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had assigned him a special responsibility aimed at addressing the prevailing regional situation.
