HOUSTON (special crosspondent) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal held high-level meetings in Houston with NASA officials and representatives of prominent US aerospace corporations to foster Pakistan’s long-term space vision. The discussions centered on enhancing space education, promoting scientific research, and developing world-class opportunities for the nation’s youth within the global science and technology sectors.

National Space Education Program

The minister emphasized that the Government of Pakistan is actively developing a national space education program designed to cultivate scientific curiosity and innovation among the younger generation. As part of this overarching strategy, the government aims to establish a Space Exploration Centre in Narowal, intended to serve as a hub for space science, astronomy, and advanced research. Professor Iqbal noted that this facility will act as a national initiative to nurture the future scientists and engineers who will drive Pakistan’s technological progress.

Professor Ahsan Iqbal stressed that Pakistan’s young engineers and IT professionals possess significant potential to contribute to the global space industry.
