CHOLPON-ATA (KYRGYZSTAN) (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, alongside the foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, held a formal meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov, at his state residence on Friday.

Strengthening Regional Cooperation

During the engagement, the deputy prime minister conveyed warm fraternal greetings from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Senator Dar expressed his gratitude to President Zhaparov for the gracious hospitality and seamless arrangements extended to the visiting delegations during the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Similar to the diplomatic efforts seen when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discusses regional security with Saudi Crown Prince, this meeting aimed to bolster bilateral ties and address shared geopolitical concerns.

Pakistan’s Role in SCO Future

Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized the critical importance of sustained collaboration among SCO Member States, particularly as Pakistan gears up to assume the SCO Chairmanship for the 2026–27 term. This leadership role aligns with Pakistan’s broader objective of active Dr. Musaddiq Malik reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to global climate diplomacy and regional stability. The dialogue between the ministers and the Kyrgyz President provided a platform to review critical regional and global developments, reaffirming the organization’s evolving role as a vital mechanism for economic and security cooperation.
