LAHORE (special crosspondent) – A high-level business delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), led by President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, held a productive and interactive meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade, expand exports, and strengthen economic cooperation between Pakistan and France. This diplomatic engagement continues the LCCI’s ongoing efforts to explore international trade avenues.

France Identified as a Promising Market for Pakistani Exports

President LCCI Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol stated that France offers significant opportunities for Pakistani exporters, particularly within the broader European market. He stressed the urgent need to deepen commercial ties, improve market access, and facilitate greater business-to-business engagement to unlock the full potential of bilateral trade. He noted that increasing Pakistan’s exports is vital for sustainable economic growth and the generation of essential foreign exchange earnings. He added that the Lahore Chamber remains committed to supporting exporters, identifying new markets, and promoting stronger commercial relations with France and other European countries, mirroring broader national efforts to improve strategic sector cooperation.

Strategic Focus on Emerging Export Opportunities

Members of the LCCI delegation, representing a wide range of business sectors, shared their views and reaffirmed their commitment to exploring new opportunities for Pakistani products in the French market. They emphasized the importance of close collaboration between the public and private sectors to enhance Pakistan’s export competitiveness.

Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch appreciated the efforts of the Lahore Chamber in promoting international trade and highlighted promising opportunities for Pakistani businesses in France. She identified dairy products, information technology, value-added textiles, and agro-based products as sectors with strong export potential. The Ambassador also noted that changing climatic conditions in France have significantly increased demand for air conditioners and electric fans, particularly in hospitals and public transport systems, creating new opportunities for Pakistani manufacturers.

She encouraged greater collaboration and joint ventures between Pakistani and French companies, stating that such partnerships would strengthen bilateral economic relations, promote technology transfer, and attract investment. Trade and Investment Counsellor Salman Ahmed Chaudri assured the delegation of the Embassy’s full support in facilitating trade, investment, and business linkages between the two countries. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to assisting Pakistani exporters in accessing the French market, ensuring they remain updated on the latest economic development protocols.
