ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. The high-level meeting focused on exchanging views regarding regional developments and peace initiatives.

During the discussions, the Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, commended Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in fostering dialogue, de-escalation, and promoting regional stability. He specifically acknowledged Pakistan’s persistent efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and to cultivate understanding among regional stakeholders, particularly during a period marked by significant geopolitical challenges.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir underscored Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to maintaining peace and stability within the region. Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to further enhancing the robust relations between Pakistan and Iran. They also pledged to maintain close consultations on matters of mutual interest, with the overarching goal of advancing peace, prosperity, and stability across the wider region.
