Pakistan Condemns Houthi Threats Against Saudi Arabia and Maritime Shipping

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Pakistan has issued a formal statement unequivocally condemning the continued threats directed by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping vessels operating within the Red Sea. Islamabad maintains that such hostile actions constitute a direct threat to regional security, undermine the freedom of navigation, challenge the established rules-based maritime order, and jeopardize the uninterrupted flow of global commerce.

Officials in Islamabad emphasized that threats against commercial shipping and trade engagements with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are entirely unacceptable, asserting that these actions represent a clear violation of established international law. The government expressed particular concern regarding reports of threats specifically targeting vessels engaged in lawful commercial trade with the Kingdom.

Pakistan Defends Sovereign Maritime Interests

Reiterating its firm stance on national security, Pakistan confirmed that any hostile act directed toward Pakistani-flagged vessels or any other Pakistani maritime interests would be treated as a grave threat to the nation’s sovereignty. In alignment with the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law, Pakistan formally reserves its right to implement all necessary measures, including the lawful use of force, as an exercise of self-defence to protect its maritime assets and broader national interests.

Commitment to Regional Stability

Pakistan underscored its deep concern regarding attempts to involve the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the ongoing Middle East conflict. The statement reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the security, territorial integrity, and prosperity of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterates Pakistan’s Commitment To Regional Peace Stability, the government remains steadfast in its dedication to dialogue, diplomacy, and the de-escalation of regional tensions. Pakistan calls upon all parties involved to respect international law and guarantee the continued safety and security of global maritime shipping routes.
